  • Committee involvement is a great way to participate in the Chamber and the Community. Each one offers some sort of exposure and opportunity for you and your business. Consider being a part of something great, or you can have an employee from your business represent you! We ask for a 1-2 year commitment at the minimum. Contact us for more information!

    Awards Committee

    Meetings are held each month

    Plans and organizes the Chamber’s annual Bluffton Ball. The Bluffton Ball is a gala that was developed to recognize and award area businesses and community individuals who have made their mark in the greater Bluffton area. This committee also administers the nomination and voting process for the awards.


    Government Committee

    Meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6pm-Town Hall.

    Committee members represent the Chamber at local government meetings which includes but not limited to; Town of Bluffton, Beaufort County, Jasper County, State and US. Committee members report findings to the Board Representative


    Leadership Bluffton 

    Meetings: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays from 8:45am - 11:45am

    Leadership Bluffton is a 10 month program to help area community minded professionals gain exposure and knowledge from area leaders. Each month proposes a different focuses’

    (i.e.: government, education, ecology, spirituality, infrastructure, economic development, history and culture)

    *Leadership Bluffton 2017 starts January 2017.


    Marketing & Programs

    ​Develops and executes marketing plans and programs that are beneficial to not only the Chamber but to the members. Programs such as "Member to Member" discounts and Shop Small Business week are to name a few.


    Ambassador Club

    Meetings: 1st Thursdays at 9:30am Chamber Headquarters

    Ambassadors are the Chambers connections to the area businesses. They serve as industry experts and liaisons to the Chamber. They participate in networking events, ribbon cuttings and other community events on behalf of the Chamber. Ambassadors also help with member retention and assisting in member to member relationship building.


    Events Committee

    Meetings: 3rd Thursday of the Month 5:30pm Chamber

    Plans and executes Chamber events such as the Taste of Bluffton and the Boiled Peanut Festival. Assists in the feasibility and fundraising components as befitting to the Chamber. Involves soliciting businesses and vendors for participation and sponsorships. Help develop marketing plans and budgets to ensure each events success. They volunteer for the day of event.


    ​Technology Committee

    Meetings: TBA

    This committee's focus is on IT and programs that enhance and assist area businesses. They are a resource to members needing technology.


    Non-Profit/Community Committee

    Meetings: ​TBD at Chamber Headquarters.

    This group is made up of both profit and non-profit professionals. The main focus is to develop an overall fundraising calendar for the Chamber to manage. To encourage partnerships between profit and non-profit that will create good will and great exposure for all concerned.


    Miss Bluffton Miss Hilton Head Organization

    This is Bluffton's very own local pageant. It is part of the Miss South Carolina Scholarship Organization and affiliated with the Miss America Organization. It is an open pageant to girls in South Carolina who compete for prizes and scholarship monies to go towards their future. Current titles are Miss Bluffton ages 17-24 (Must be at least a Senior in High School) and Miss Bluffton Teen ages 13-17 (non-senior) and Miss Bluffton Pre-Teen ages 9-12.

     


    Young Professionals

    Meetings:  Last Thursdays 5:30pm-7:00pm- Location TBA

    The Young Professionals Group will focus on professional development of 18-34 year olds and to encourage and to engage them in Chamber activities. This group is open to all ages for anyone interested in mentoring as well. They serve as a viable resource to the Chamber to assist in programs and events and volunteering in the community. Young Professionals a new development, please let us know if you would like to be a part of this new venture.
