Join us at Beaufort Memorial HealthLink for Children for an Open House and After Hours celebrating the new facility in Bluffton.
Beaufort Memorial Hospital will host a ribbon cutting and Business After Hours to celebrate its new Bluffton pediatric rehabilitation center on Tuesday, November 28 from 5:30 to 7 PM. The event, hosted in conjunction with the Bluffton Chamber of Commerce and Southern Barrel Brewing, is free and open to the public.
HealthLink for Children recently moved to 31 Innovation Dr. off Buckwalter Parkway. Following the 5:30 PM ribbon cutting, there will be a reception with complimentary refreshments and a beer tasting by Southern Barrel, as well as an opportunity to tour the new facility and meet the staff.
“We’re very excited about the new facility and the opportunity to showcase it to community,” said Megan Mack, Beaufort Memorial’s outpatient pediatric rehab manager. “We’ve incorporated a Lowcountry wildlife theme and designed the interior with the healing arts in mind to provide a calming space for children and their families.”
The center’s new location also offers therapeutic benefits. It’s within easy walking distance of a food market, hardware store and bowling alley where patients can be taken to practice real-life skills and navigation exercises.
Beaufort Memorial HealthLink for Children treats patients from birth through the age of 21, providing therapy for conditions that range from impaired mobility, balance and coordination to thinking and sensory processing, communication, swallowing disorders and autism. A physician’s referral is required to begin therapy, but free developmental screenings are available by appointment.
