Our Speaker is Bluffton Bookkeeper, Lisa Peacock.

Lisa has been in the accounting industry for her entire working career. She started out as a cashier/sales associate during her high school years at Hilton Head High. She graduated in 1996 and got a job as a bank teller. Lisa quickly became the security administrator and customer service representative due to her love of learning and helping others learn proper procedures. She also worked for a local contractor as a receptionist/office administrator during this time. Lisa fell into an accounts payable position while looking for a full time job to support herself financially through college. This position steered her in the direction of accounting as a career.

Since then, Lisa has worked with general contractors, sub-contractors, doctors, lawyers, restaurants, retail stores, online stores, service providers, franchisees, and other accountants. What she has found to be the constant issue in all of these endeavors was that accountants/bookkeepers were an all or nothing service.

This is where she found her niche. She believes that knowledge is power. If she can bestow on others the knowledge she continues to obtain; this will empower those she comes into contact with and help build lasting business relationships. Lisa feels it is imperative that people understand their financial status now and to set goals for their future financial position; whether that is in a personal or business environment. You can't understand where you are going if you don't understand where you are. Her goal is to assist in this understanding for those who are interested and willing to learn in whatever capacity she is needed.

Lisa’s specialized skills and ongoing training consist of the following areas:

    • Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, Basic Power Point
    • Google Web Application: G-Mail, Calendar, Docs, Plus Etc.
    • QuickBooks Online and Desktop P/C and Mac (currently a Certified QuickBooks online ProAdvisor)

While she has an Associate’s Degree with a GPA of 3.607, she also became a Certified Bookkeeper in 2008 and her school loans are all paid for! She has been in the accounting/business industry for over 23 years and continues to educate herself on new technologies and business practices. She believes that her knowledge and experience can be used to help her neighbors succeed in their financial goals.
