    Project Coordinator Job Announcement

     

    ANNUAL SALARY: $35,000 with Benefits

    POSITION TYPE: Full-Time

    LOCATION: Office to be established in Hilton Head or Bluffton, SC.

    SUMMARY OF POSITION:  

    The Project Coordinator supports the work of the LCAHY Coalition in accomplishing its objectives to ensure that the goals of the LCAHY and the federal Drug Free Communities (DFC) Program Grant (awarded in September 2017) are achieved. The goals of the DFC Program, aligned with LCAHY’s goals, are: 1) Establish and strengthen collaboration among communities, public and private non-profit agencies; as well as federal, state, local, and tribal governments to support the efforts of community coalitions working to prevent and reduce substance use among youth. 2) Reduce substance use among youth and, over time, reduce substance abuse among adults by addressing the factors in a community that increase the risk of substance abuse and promoting the factors that minimize the risk of substance abuse.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor degree in Communications, Marketing, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Public Health, Nursing, or other related field.

    • Experience working with community health issues and/or substance abuse prevention preferred but not required.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • Knowledge of substance use/abuse prevention preferred, but not required

    • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills

    • Excellent organizational skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Programs including word, Excel and Power Point

    • Proficiency with Social Media

    • Demonstrated project management experience (adherence to budgets, program plans, etc.) preferred, but not required

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Work under the supervision of the Coalition’s Executive Committee, with the guidance of the DFC Program Director.

    • Support the Coalition’s implementation of the 12 Month Action Plans to ensure the goals of the coalition are met, with a focus on environmental strategies.

    • Work with the Coalition and the Program Director to ensure coalition adherence to DFC grant requirements, maintain records, and submit programmatic reports.

    • Support/work with the Coalition and/or sub-committee(s) with the collection of current data and community trends utilized for coalition efforts.

    • Collaborate with subcommittee leadership to support email correspondence and ensure necessary documentation of meetings.

    • Maintain membership data base.

    • Maintain/track In-kind dollar match.

    • Maintain data base of Coalition history, e.g. events, media coverage.

    • Promote/support Coalition platforms via press releases, advertising, media, fliers, community events, and other means deemed beneficial for increasing awareness.

    • Support the LCAHY Youth Coalition, as deemed necessary.

    • Staff information table at school/community events

    • Coordinate/schedule community presentations to be given by the Coalition Board.

    • Coordinate/schedule Sector trainings as directed by the Executive Committee.

    • Manage special projects as determined by the Executive Committee.

    • Manage the Coalition Office, including ordering/purchasing of resources/supplies as directed by the Executive Committee.

    • Work with the Coalition to obtain human and financial resources to support the Coalition.

    • Support and work with the Coalition to expand the reach of the Coalition and provide new member orientation.

    • Attend mandatory DFC three-week trainings out of State, including additional trainings (online or within the State).

    • Support/update website as needed.

    • Develop skills as needed, such as grant writing and marketing.

     

    Additional Job Functions:

    • Valid driver’s license and transportation required.

    • Have regular access to a reliable car.

    • Be able to lift and transport program materials.

    • Specific assignments and/or meetings will require a flexible work schedule, such as evenings and/or weekends.
