"We've opened a lot of stores and we have never seen support like this from a local chamber. This is fantastic." -Colin Stephenson, Sales Manager of Sherwin Williams
Non Profit Agencies & OrganizationsAdult Day Care
PEP's mission is to ''promote independence, social interaction, and employment opportunities for adults who live with intellectual disabilities.'' We are a licensed non-profit organization and licensed by the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs as an Adult Activity Center. We provide a day program service for adults in Beaufort and Jasper counties who live with intellectual disabilities.
In our program, PEP members receive on the job training with vocational instructors at local businesses in groups we call 'enclaves,' provide services to the community through contract work and four PEP operated micro-businesses (Ceramics Store, Lawn Care Service, Ergonomics Solutions, and Print Shop), participate in on-site vocational and educational activities lead by staff members and community volunteers (exercise, literacy, yoga, arts and crafts, woodworking, health, current events, safety, cooking, etc.), and get involved in our community by participating in our after-hours recreation and leisure program.
