With over 800 non-profit agencies in Beaufort County there are plenty of ways to get involved. You can be as committed as your time allows. Many organizations, including the Chamber, have amble opportunities for people in the community to stretch their volunteer muscles. Whether it is volunteering on the Chamber’s Adopt-A-Highway program, helping at a local event , answering phones, handing out information or fundraising the greater Bluffton area has much to offer.
The Chamber is a great resource for needs assessments on for many charitable groups. Residents can help by filling in gaps where staffing is limited and where budgets are tight for so many organizations that do so many great things for our citizens. The Chamber can also sign off on community service hours as high school credit.
Area businesses can also take advantage of the opportunities that are presented through the Non-Profit Community Committee. Forming a partnership with a favorite local charity is not only “good community” it is also good for business!
Charitable Contributions and Donations
Of Course, there’s always contributions and donations that everyone needs and hopes for. No matter how big or small they all add up and they all count. With so many in need, we like to help guide people into philanthropy by asking questions like, what is your passion? What are you concerned about and what are your interests? It could be animals, or children or even helping a struggling small business by being a mentor. Whatever that may be we all have something to offer and it isn’t always in the form of a check. (Of course, we still need those too!)
Committees/Boards/Commissions
Serving on a committee, board or commission is an excellent way to get to know many people in the community. You can do this through the Chamber. If we don’t have what you are looking for we can certainly steer you in the right direction.
