SUMMARY:Forests/Facades: a two-person contemporary painting show curated by EMROSE projects
DESCRIPTION:Forests/Facades is a curated exhibition of contemporary paintings by two SCAD grads: Keith Crowley & Thomas Flynn II\, presented in the showroom setting of Coastal Lighting Studio\, with Ketra lighting by Lutron. \n\n\n\nKeith Crowley is a painter based in Sarasota\, FL. His work has been featured at the Tampa Museum of Art\, Tampa\, FL\, and Museum of Fine Arts\, St. Petersburg\, in two prior Skyway exhibitions. Most recently\, Crowley's work has been exhibited at Philadelphia's Atelier FAS Gallery and No. 5 Butchie Alley\, as well as in a group show at Ibis Gallery\, New Orleans\, LA. His work has been published three times in New American Paintings. Prior to living in Sarasota\, Keith lived in Philadelphia for 14 years. During that time\, he was represented by Bridgette Mayer Gallery\; he was a member of Tiger Strikes Asteroid\, and a founding member of the Church Studios in Philadelphia. In addition to his studio practice\, Keith served as Preparator at the Princeton University Art Museum\, Princeton\, NJ. He has worked as Chief Preparator at the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota\, FL since 2015. In 2001\, he received his MFA in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design\, Savannah\, GA.\n\n\n\nThomas Flynn II (b.1994) is a painter originally from small-town Texas but is now based in Atlanta\, Georgia. He has exhibited work in many cities across the United States\, but most notably in Texas and Georgia as well as the surrounding regions. His work has been acquired by Canva US Headquarters\, the SCAD permanent collection\, in numerous art publications including Friend of the Artist Vol 18\, New Visionary Magazine\, and has been placed into private collections across the world. Flynn received a B.F.A. in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2016. He has recently published a hardcover art book of his work with Snap Collective. In 2023\, he opened a solo show\, titled "to catch the sun dreaming" of over 50 works in Austin\, TX. In 2024\, he was selected for the prestigious SCAD Alumni Atelier program. Flynn is currently a studio artist of MINT Atlanta.\n\n\n\nEMROSE projects takes a client- and community-informed\, narrative-driven approach to our Art Consulting and Creative Placemaking practice. Our mission is to help clients accomplish their goals through innovative\, artful solutions that create environments and experiences infused with meaning. Each recommendation is made with intention\, designed to accomplish a specific purpose that we've collaboratively identified with you.\n\nPrincipal Maria Hooper has over 15 years of experience in the contemporary gallery and auction world\, corporate brand-building through events and environments\, and in-field hospitality design execution. Maria draws on her varied experience\, education\, travels\, and personal love of the visual arts to curate and develop purposeful art collections that truly distinguish residential\, commercial and hospitality environments. Maria graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Vassar College\, and obtained a Master's degree in Media Studies from The New School in New York City. She is also a certified Creative Placemaking practitioner through the NJ Institute of Technology and serves on the Town of Bluffton's Public Art Committee.
