POSITION PURPOSE Teller Supervisor is responsible for all cash and coin in a locations vault. A Teller Supervisor also undertakes credit union transactions and interacts directly with members overseeing the Branch Tellers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES • Greet all members and visitors when they enter the location lobby. • Order all currency and coins for location. • Count and record money received and sent for shipment from Federal Reserve and other Independence credit union locations. • Responsible for balancing of vault currency and coin daily. • Processing daily transactions including receiving deposits, cashing checks, accepting loan payments, and disbursing cash. • Cash checks and payout money after verifying that signatures are correct, that written and numerical amounts agree, and that accounts have sufficient funds. • Explain, promote, and sell specialized products such as cashiers checks and personal money orders. • Perform services for members including ordering credit union cards and checks. • Record all transactions promptly, accurately, and in accordance with credit union procedures. • Perform as a team member in allocating and coordinating the workflow. • May be responsible for branch openings/closings. • Answer inquiries regarding checking and savings accounts and other credit union related products. • Assist members in solving account errors or problems, providing account balances, etc. • Balance currency, cash and checks in cash drawer daily. • Promote and maintain positive relations with all contacts, members, and potential members. • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS • Financial Service Representative functions are efficiently, effectively, and accurately performed in accordance with established policies, standards, and security procedures. • Monies are balanced and any discrepancies promptly resolved. A balancing record that meets established standards is maintained. • Good business relations exist with members. Members' problems or questions are courteously and promptly resolved. • Good working relationships and coordination exist with area personnel and with management. Assistance is provided to other Financial Service Representatives and staff as needed. Supervisors are appropriately informed of area activities. • Required reports and records are accurate, complete, and timely. Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent. Required Knowledge: Some knowledge of Teller and Financial Service Representative policies and procedures. Basic understanding of Credit Union operations. Experience Required: Abilities generally acquired on the job in 12 months. Some cash handling experience preferred. Skills/Abilities: • Good communication skills. • Professional appearance, dress, and attitude. • Good math skills.
