    The Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce is seeking a motivated individual to join our team in serving the business community of the Greater Bluffton Area.  This position will provide the opportunity to expand your professional skill set, establish relationships in the local business community and grow with the chamber!  Interested individuals should email a cover letter and resume to info@blufftonchamberofcommerce.org. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify and Recruit New Members
    • Retain Existing Members and assist members in taking full advantage of their membership
    • Process membership applications, renewal, and resignations
    • Maintaining and updating membership records
    • Assist with member communications
    • Manage Membership Collections through email and phone communications
    • Developing and implementing strategies to recruit new members and retain existing members through a 12-month retention process
    • Creating membership marketing materials
    • Collecting data, tracking membership statistics, and preparing reports
    • Handling all questions, information requests, and complaints regarding membership.
    • Manage, lead, and track all aspects of membership sales to make goal of the budget.
    • Attend all events inside the Chamber and outside to generate potential leads for membership.
    • Work with members to get them involved in the Chamber for retention purposes. 
    • Assist in recruitment of Chamber Ambassadors, attend monthly Ambassador meetings, and work with the Chamber Ambassadors to make renewal contacts and respond to all feedback received.
    • Maintains knowledge of goals, objectives, and services provided by the organization
    • Coordinate and schedule Ribbon Cuttings and Grand Openings, member spotlights, etc. with member businesses
    Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or GED (Bachelors Preferred)
    • Flexible Schedule
    • Previous experience member management, sales, or recruitment, preferred
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
    • Proficient in technology and MS Office
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills, detail oriented
    • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
    • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time
    • Ability to think creatively and take initiative
    • Represent the Chamber professionally and ethically in the community.
    • Comfortable with working out and around the Greater Bluffton area
    • Ability to prospect/cold-call new businesses and upgrade/sell membership tiers.
    • Capable of maintaining sensitive/confidential information
    Work Schedule & Availability:
    • Normal Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday: Generally 8:30am – 5:00pm
    • Additional Hours:  It will be necessary to work outside of Normal Work Hours due to events, programs and meetings that will occur before or after those hours.
    Pay & Benefits:
    • Starting Salary: $20,800 base
    • Commission: $11,400 based on achieving sales goals.
    • Paid Time Off (PTO): 10 Days Annually
    • Paid Federal Holidays
