    Mask Ordinance Update

Town of Bluffton: On April 13, 2021, the Bluffton Town Council voted to not renew two emergency ordinances:
    • Emergency ordinance requiring face covering in the Town Limits
    • Emergency ordinance allowing the Town Manager to enact plans and policies related to government services and the pandemic

What does this mean? The two ordinances expired April 14, 2021. While it is no longer mandated by the Town to wear a face covering, businesses/facilities can still require them.

Beaufort County: During the April 12, 2021 Beaufort County Council Meeting, the emergency ordinance requiring the wearing of face coverings failed to receive the necessary votes to extend the ordinance requiring masks to be worn in public buildings for unincorporated Beaufort County.

What does this mean? This means that beginning Friday, April 16, 2021, face coverings will no longer be required in unincorporated Beaufort County. However, face coverings remain required in all Beaufort County Courthouses.
