    Did you know that 99.4% of businesses in South Carolina in 2020 were considered small businesses? For more than 50 years, the U.S. Small Business Administration has celebrated National Small Business Week, which recognizes the contributions of entrepreneurs and small business owners.

    U.S. Small Business Administration Updates
     
     
    The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program was established through the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits and Venues Act and amended by the American Rescue Plan Act to provide over $16 billion in economic relief.
     
    New Information: The application portal has been reopened.
     
     
    The American Rescue Plan Act established the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) to help restaurants and other eligible businesses keep their doors open. This program will provide funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business and no more than $5 million per physical location.
     
    New Information: Registration will begin Friday, April 30 at 9 AM and the SBA will begin accepting applications through the portal on Monday, May 3 at 12 PM.
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
    New Information: Did you apply for an EIDL Loan, but was not approved? Applicants can send a request for reevaluation of a Targeted EIDL Advance Application.
     
     
     
    Did you apply for the COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loans? If so, the U.S. Small Business Administration is increasing the maximum amount that small businesses and non-profit organizations can borrow.
     
     
     
     
     
     
     
    Did you receive a Disaster Loan? If so, an additional 12-month deferment of principal and interest payments will be automatically granted to these borrows.
     
     
     
    Did you apply for the Paycheck Protection Program? On Tuesday, March 30, 2021, President Biden signed the PPP Extension Act of 2021 extending the PPP an additional two months to May 31, 2021. There will also be an additional 30-day period for the SBA to process applications that are still pending.
