Don Brashears is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but has been a proud resident of South Carolina since 1997. Brashears earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Commerce and an MBA in International Economics and Finance from Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ.
At the age of 18, Brashears began his career at U.S. STEEL, a division of USX, as a laborer. Thirty years later, he retired from his career with U.S. STEEL as Area Manager for the Sheet and Galvanizing Facilities. During his time at U.S. STEEL, he ran Tin Finishing operations, which produced products for companies like Campbell's Soup, Chrysler, Del Monte, GM, Toyota, and others. Brashears is currently the Owner/Partner of Atlantic Real Estate, Inc. (Hilton Head Island, SC) and Liberty Tax Service (Bluffton, SC).
In addition to his day-to-day job, Brashears is heavily involved in the community. He currently serves as the Board Chairman for the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as Board Chair for Southeast TechInventures and is the Chair of The Literacy Center. In addition, he serves as a Board Member for Ariel Savannah Angel Partners, LLC and Ag TechInventures. Brashears is also involved in the Rotary Club of Hilton Head (Past - President) and is a strong advocate for Rotary International. Together, he and his wife, Terri, have hosted 13 exchange students from all over the world as they attended Hilton Head High School during the school year.

Ken Groff is a native of Pennsylvania but has been a proud resident of South Carolina since 2001. Groff earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Insurance and Risk Management from Penn State University in University Park, Pennsylvania.
Groff began his career in the Insurance industry in 1977 and has had the privilege of working in and starting various insurance agencies. Groff currently serves as the Director of Commercial Insurance for NFP, Inc (Bluffton, SC).
In addition to his day-to-day job, Groff is and always has been heavily involved in the community. He is currently involved with the Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head, the First Tee of the Lowcountry, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce. Groff was previously involved with the Hilton Head Island Audubon, Palmetto Red Cross, the Community Association Institute of SC, and the First Nonprofit Foundation.

Evan Bromley was born and raised in Aiken, South Carolina, but now owns the Bromley Law Firm, LLC in Bluffton, SC. Evan is an experienced litigator whose practice primarily consists of trial and transactional matters in the areas of business, construction, association law, estate planning and probate, and personal injury.
Since 2013, Bromley has held an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. This is the highest rating a lawyer can receive and is only awarded to attorneys deemed by their peers to exhibit the highest legal ability and ethical standards. Active in the local community, Evan is past President of the Beaufort County Bar Association. Sharon Brown is a native of South Carolina. Brown attended and graduated from the Technical College of the Lowcountry.
Brown is a Financial Professional who worked for WFG Transamerica and is a World System Builder. She currently serves as the Principal Secretary and Office Manager at Bluffton High School.
Brown is an avid volunteer in and around Beaufort County. She is heavily involved with the Bluffton Area Community Association and is a Founder of the Back to School Fun Day, which provides families with free backpacks filled with school supplies for the past ten years. Brown also serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce and Bluffton Self Help.
Brown loves working with people in an environment where team concept is a priority. She considers herself to be a "go getter, mover and a shaker" who says, "My love for the people in the community and our youth is THE driving force in ALL that I have done and will continually do to empower them."

Melanie Gallion is a proud native and resident of Beaufort, South Carolina. Gallion earned her Master’s Degree in Information Management from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and Guidance from the University of South Carolina-Coastal Carolina and a Professional Development Certificate in High Education Leadership from the University of South Carolina.
Gallion has many years of experience in Higher Education serving in multiple roles with Horry-Georgetown Technical College in Conway, SC, Midlands Technical College in Columbia, SC and currently is the Director of Business and Workforce Services for the Technical College of the Lowcountry in Beaufort, SC.
In addition to her day-to-day job, Gallion is heavily involved in the community. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce and is also involved with the Beaufort Chamber of Commerce. Gallion is a member of the Lowcountry Council of Governments and the Rotary Club of Beaufort where she is recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow.
Ron Gray - Retired Executive
Ron Gray is a retired corporate executive who lives in Sun City where he chairs the Strategic Planning Committee and serves on the Leadership Development Committee. Gray has served on the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors since 2012 and has chaired the Non-Profit, Education, and Bluffton Business Awards/Bluffton Ball Committees. Currently, Ron serves on the Executive Committee, the Board Nominating Committee, and the Human Resources Committee.
Gray earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Penn State University and an MS Degree in Training and Development from Saint Joseph's University.
Ron's career has included leadership positions with Scott Paper Company, Saint Joseph's University and AAA.

I am one of the founders of Osprey Village, a local nonprofit organization that is working to develop a "neighborhood with a purpose" to provide housing and services to adults with developmental disabilities and their aging caregivers. We have 25 acres of land in the Okatie are that has been donated for our neighborhood development. I current serve as the Director of Business Development for Osprey Village.

Meg James is a proud native of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, but resides in Bluffton with her husband, William. James earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of South Carolina and a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Marketing Management from Colorado Technical University.
James has been with the Hilton Head Area Home Builders Association since May 2013 and currently serves as their Executive Officer. She is responsible for the management of the professional organization and its membership of nearly 500 industry companies operating in and around Beaufort, Hampton and Jasper Counties.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors for the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, she is also a board liaison for the Bluffton Chamber Golden Oyster Awards Committee. James is an active member of the Town of Bluffton's Affordable Housing Committee, Past Chair of the Home Builders Association of South Carolina Executive Officers Council, and a Community Partner on the Town of Hilton Head's Our Plan Inclusive Work Group, "Fostering an Inclusive Multi-dimensional Community."
James is passionate about event planning and helping people win! Megan Mack is a native of Greenbush, Maine, but has been a proud resident of South Carolina since 2004. Mack earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy from Keuka College in Keuka Park, New York. She also earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire.
Mack currently serves as the Rehabilitation Director for Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Prior to serving as the Rehabilitation Director, Mack held positions in multiple facets at Beaufort Memorial Hospital, including Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation Manager, Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation Team Leader, and Staff Occupational Therapist.
In addition to her day-to-day job, Mack has always been involved in the local community. She currently serves as a Board Member of the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce and is part of the Human Resources Committee. Mack has also held many leadership positions within the Bluffton Rotary Club and continues to be an active member. She previously spent time volunteering with Bluffton Jasper Volunteers in Medicine. Mack is a graduate of the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce Leadership Academy, Beaufort Memorial Hospital Leadership Institute, and the South Carolina Hospital Association Management Academy.

Joe Nahman has a strong background in the hospitality industry and has been managing resort properties for 30 years. His leadership abilities have earned him the presidency of the Lowcountry Property Management Association, a place in the Leadership Hilton Head Program, the "Silver Award" from the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) for "National Timeshare General Manager of the Year" and nominations for a number of other ARDA awards including "National Resort Executive of the Year". Joe holds ARDA's highest designation - Registered Resort Professional (RRP).
He has been recognized by the ARDA Educational Institute with the "Seal of Achievement" for adherence to an industry code of ethics and continuing education. In addition, Joe is the past president of the Preferred Business Association of Hilton Head Island, a six-year board member of the South Carolina chapter of the Community Association Institute (CAI), and the Vice Chairman of Hilton Head Preparatory School's Board of Trustees. Joe is a licensed Property Manager-In-Charge, an RCI Master Broker and holds both the CAI Certified Manager of Community Associations and Association Management Specialist designations.
Joe is on the board of directors of the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce and has served on the boards of a number of charities and non-profit organizations including Rotary, the American Heart Association and Hilton Head Deep Well Project. He graduated cum laude from the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management with a degree in Hotel Management and completed the Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program.

A respected and accomplished executive leader, Brad D. Steele has a distinguished career of 30+ years leading companies and nonprofits to record growth and increased stakeholder value. As an operational strategist and business development professional, he has a stellar record of creating strategic marketing and sales plans and donor development plans that drive profitability and customer / donor loyalty. Throughout his career, Brad has been accountable for developing and implementing long- and short-term strategies to achieve the corporate/nonprofit vision and improve ROE and stakeholder/donor value in a fast-paced and competitive environment.
Prior to joining The Literacy Center in December of 2018, Brad was the Managing Partner of Tarshish Consulting. Tarshish Consulting worked with a broad range of nonprofit organizations to help with strategic planning and fundraising, governance and leadership development, partnerships and alliances, analytics and assessments.
From 2001-2016, Brad served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Leader Enterprises, Inc., a nationally-recognized, full-service marketing agency with a strong portfolio of Fortune 500 accounts. He led a 12-member executive team and staff of 130+ in developing and executing innovative branding and marketing strategies for clients in a variety of industries. Under his leadership, revenues grew from $2M to $30M. Under Brad’s leadership, Leader Enterprises received numerous accolades.
Brad was a frequent speaker at national meetings and is known for sharing his expertise in Sales Leadership, New Business Development, Leading and Measuring the Sales Process and Creating Audience Marketing Plans. Additionally, Brad has consulted and helped launch 10+ nonprofit organizations. He was recognized as one of the finest sales executives in the country by author and business consultant Winnie Ary in her book We Shoot Every Third Sales Person and The Second One Just Left.
Brad has served on the Board of Directors for Grace Summit, Everyday Revivalists and Restore Place and on the Advisory Boards of The Rally Foundation and Must Charities. He is currently a member of the Greater Island Council (GIC) and serves on the board of the Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education and Biblical Literature from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California . He and his wife, Pamela, reside in Hilton Head Island, SC and attend Christian Renewal Church (CRC).
