Downtown Deli & Catering Named South Carolina Small Business of the Year
Columbia, S.C. (May 1, 2026) – Downtown Deli & Catering has been named the recipient of the prestigious South Carolina Small Business of the Year award, announced on April 30, 2026, at Small Business Day in Columbia. The award recognizes outstanding achievement, growth, leadership, and community impact among small businesses across the state.
The Greater Bluffton Chamber of Commerce was proud to nominate Downtown Deli & Catering following its recognition as the 2025 Legacy Award recipient at the Chamber’s Golden Oyster Awards in February - an honor that celebrates longstanding excellence, sustained growth, and deep community impact. These qualities closely aligned with the criteria for the statewide Small Business of the Year award.

Founded more than 23 years ago, Downtown Deli & Catering has grown from a small sandwich shop into a thriving restaurant, catering company, and event venue employing more than 100 team members. Their ability to adapt and lead in an increasingly competitive market - while maintaining a strong commitment to quality, service, and relationships - has made them a cornerstone of the Bluffton community.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the business demonstrated extraordinary leadership by launching the Hungry Hearts Restaurant Relief Fund, raising more than $135,000 to support hospitality workers and local restaurants. Their ongoing community involvement includes partnerships with numerous nonprofit organizations, hosting fundraising events, and contributing to initiatives that support families, children, and individuals in need.
Most recently, the company expanded its footprint with the acquisition and revitalization of Magnolia Café in Beaufort, further demonstrating its commitment to growth and job creation within the region.
While this recognition highlights Downtown Deli & Catering, it also reflects the strength, resilience, and collaborative spirit of the entire Bluffton business community.
