Grand Design Wealth Management of Raymond James

Nick is a financial planner with Raymond James and the founder of Grand Design Wealth Management, a boutique planning practice aligned with Raymond James Financial Services. As an Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ and having attained his Master’s in Business Administration, he has the knowledge and experience necessary to provide comprehensive planning.

Nick earned his undergraduate degree from the United States Air Force Academy and was commissioned as an officer in 2008. While in the Air Force, he achieved the rank of Captain, managed various airfields and conducted air traffic control operations both stateside and abroad. During this time, he earned his MBA at Wilmington University in Delaware. Nick began his career in financial services in 2013 and has thoroughly enjoyed serving his clients and building lifelong relationships over the years. “There is an advantage to starting my career early in the financial services industry,” he says. “I’ve had over a decade of experiences and opportunities to navigate life’s milestones with my clients and, hopefully, I’ll have a few more decades to look forward to. I feel as if I’m just getting started.” Nick works primarily with retirees, so a major focus area is designing income strategies congruent with clients’ goals. “There are many paths to pursue our goals and navigate toward our destination, I just prefer to find the path of least resistance,” he says.

Nick was born in Ohio but grew up in Winter Park, Florida where he graduated high school. Thanks to his tenure in the Air Force, Nick has lived in California, Colorado, Delaware and Louisiana. In March of 2022, the Martin’s made the decision to move to the Lowcountry to be close to family. They have since fallen in love with the region and are proud to call Bluffton home.

Nick is proud to be married to his bride, Laura, who was born and raised in the great state of Louisiana. Nick and Laura are blessed with three children, Heidi, John Michael and Hannah. Together, they enjoy anything outdoors. Laura is a phenom on the grill or in the kitchen and she is a dedicated homeschool mother. The kids are high energy seekers that love the water whether it be a pool or one of the local beaches. One of the Martin’s favorite activities is exploring new places in the motorhome. The Martins attend Community Bible for church and are active members of the Bluffton community.
