  • 4th Annual Move Your Mind 5K

Get up and Move Your Mind while supporting local families living with Alzheimer’s and related dementia in Memory Matters' fourth annual 5K run and 1M walk.

It’s happening Saturday, October 12, 2024, on the scenic Hilton Head Island beach in front of the Marriott’s Grande Ocean. The start and finish line will be located on the beach at 51 S. Forest Beach Drive. Race registrants will run or walk down to the Sea Pines Beach Club along the beach, turn around, and return. Afterward, a FREE pancake breakfast will be given to race registrants at Providence Presbyterian Church at their outside park.

Registration is open, and as in past years, strollers and four-legged friends are welcome. https://runsignup.com/Race/SC/HiltonHeadIsland/MoveYourMind

The cost is $30, which includes a T-shirt and timing bib.

“The best part of this event is that all funds raised in the race will stay right here in Beaufort and Jasper counties to help the local families that rely on Memory Matters’ programs and services,” said Memory Matters Executive Director Jill Horner.

If you aren’t a runner or walker, but have a business interested in sponsoring the event, we have several different sponsorship levels available. Our presenting sponsor level is $5,000, the Fun Zone sponsor level is $2,500, the Business Card sponsor is $1,500, the Supporting sponsor is $1,000, and our mile marker sponsor level is $500. Go to https://www.mymemorymatters.org/services-4 to see what each level provides, and then submit the fillable form.

The Palmetto Running Company will provide the race bibs, which will be chipped for accurate times for each participant. In addition, food, water, brain trivia, and prizes will be available for all who attend to run/walk or just cheer on their friends and families. Exercise is one of the five brain-healthy interventions we promote, so come on out for a fun, active morning that will help keep your brain healthy and thriving.
